GLUTEN-FREE SOS

HERE’S THE STORY WITH THE GLUTEN-FREE BAGELS:

When a customer comes in and wants to buy GF bagels, this is what we recite:

1. The gluten-free bagels come in 4 varieties: PLAIN, EVERYTHING, SESAME and CINNAMON RAISIN.

2. They come FROZEN in 6 packs (all of the same flavor in one pack). 

3. We make them once or twice a week and then we flash freeze them.

4. We are NOT a gluten-free facility. We do our best to keep these bagels free from gluten though.

5. We use the SAME oven as the sourdough bagels, but we use separate pans and seeds.   

6. Here are the ingredients:  BUCKWHEAT FLOUR, CORN STARCH, RICE STARCH, PSYLLIUM SEED FIBER, BROWN SUGAR, GLUTEN-FREE WHEAT STARCH* **, NATURAL GUAR THICKENER AND NATURAL FLAVORINGS (contains: wheat)

Are you celiac? Because we are NOT A GF FACILITY. We are very careful but we cannot guarantee that there are not more than 20 parts per million of gluten in these gorgeous bagels.

Here is the fine print:

1. We are NOT a gluten-free facility, in fact we keep a pallet of high gluten flour sitting in the shop at all times. However, it is in a separate location from where we keep our GF ingredients.

2. We are super careful about cross contamination, we take you and your health very seriously.

3. We make the GF bagels in a separate space that is 25+ feet away from the sourdough bagel making space.

4. We bake the GF bagels on dedicated sheet pans only used for GF, HOWEVER, we use shared ovens to bake them (the sourdough bagels are baked in the same ovens, but at different times and usually different days too).

5. The ingredients we use are gluten-free, dairy free, soy free, nut free and NON-GMO and are carefully sourced. Please note them here:

*this wheat starch has had the gluten removed and is considered gluten-free and will contain less than 20ppm of gluten

**if you have a WHEAT allergy then this bagel is not for you, it is NOT wheat free

If you are unsure if these are safe for you to consume, the best thing to do is NOT TO ORDER THEM.
